FT-107
This solid designed Yaesu HF transceiver was made available with a polished aluminum front panel. A great looking option.
The design used a special 40X1 edge connector for the display board. Photo on right shows the 40X1 board extended for signal probing using an oscilloscope.

The Yaesu FT-767 was designed to extend HF coverage with a plug in transverter.
Photo above right shows clearly the advantage of having the radio board out of the radio while powered up. I have been told getting in to the transverter board traces for probing is not impossible. However it has been reported by those how have purchased this extender the time an effort getting down to real troubleshooting is greatly reduced using the extender.
